This apprenticeship program is a four-year program requiring on-the-job training and classroom instrution. The class related portion follows Daytona Beach Community College's semester schedule, meeting on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on the Daytona Beach campus. Building and room numbers are available from the Electrical Apprenticeship Schedules. Classroom instruction includes principles of electricity and magnetism, wiring, installation methods, electric motor theory and control. The on-the-job training portion of the program requires full-time employment in field with a sponsoring member of the Apprenticeship Program.
Entry into the program requires a cpmpleted appreticeship application,
available from the Mid Florida Electrical Apprenticeship
and Training Committee G. N. J. by appointment only. Appointments may be obtained
by calling (386) 255-0742. Applications are accepted on a year round basis, with
the selections for entry into the program made in August.
